It was early 2020, and while the world had turned to chaos, Elizabeth and Zack were about to find their most important steadying ship.
Zack had signed up for a summer getaway month in the Hamptons with some friends; Elizabeth was stuck in the city working her beauty PR job.
Zack and friends felt that during the early unknown days of COVID, being out of the city and in a home with a yard and breathable air was preferred so they kept their summer house plans and moved to work remotely in the Hamptons. The house was a combination of ~ five guys and five girls – a group of friends who pooled their money together for the month (an official pod). As share houses go, the more people you cram in, the lower the price. And as mid/upper twenty year olds, the more money saved, the better. One of Zack’s closest friends, Lindsay (Snyder)– for those who are actively reading, a light bulb should start to flicker – decided to ask her younger sister / BFF, Elizabeth to join the house. It just so happened Elizabeth had received her COVID stimulus check and could suddenly afford to join in. It didn’t matter that there were no rooms (or beds) left - she and her friend Lauren were in!
They packed up their clothes and their gigantic Intex Dura-Beam Deluxe Ultra Plush Headboard Queen Mattress with Built-In Pump blow-up beds, and officially took over the Hamptons basement - the “dungeon” as some called it.
Elizabeth and Zack met at interesting points of life for each other. Elizabeth was just looking for a fun summer with friends; Zack had recently moved around a lot and was “working on himself.” It turns out things really can happen when you’re least expecting it.
While the two hit it off right away and continuously gravitated towards each other, they both insisted to anyone who would listen, that they were not looking for anything serious.
But, living in a house together for 30+ days, the time spent just kept piling up. It evolved from dancing on tables on the weekends to taking walks during the days; from telling jokes to comforting each other and talking about more serious topics. It was clear there was something more than just a summer fling.
This all culminated when after a night of going out, Zack asked Elizabeth to be his girlfriend. Whispers quickly traveled through the house – “Girlfriend? Zack has never uttered those words….”, “Boyfriend? Elizabeth, do you even know this GUY?” Given it had only been about two weeks since meeting, the two decided the next morning when cooler heads prevailed that they would keep spending time together, but see how things went before becoming “official.”
Well, things kept going.
More dancing. More walks. More laughter. More energy. More time. More feelings.
As their COVID house was about to conclude it became evident that Elizabeth and Zack couldn’t simply go back to the city and act like nothing had happened. They both had caught true feelings, and while still hesitant to share with others, they knew it themselves.
Elizabeth and Zack picked up dating in the city with a first date, which consisted of Elizabeth dragging Zack on a 3-hour long walk of the city. When they passed by Washington Square Park, Zack knew he found the one.
~Three years later, Elizabeth and Zack got engaged. They had plans to do it at that same park, but weather and other factors caused a last minute changeup. Instead, on March 2, 2024, with major support and help from family and friends, Elizabeth and Zack got engaged near New York Stock Exchange, then met family for a champagne toast and lunch at Little Owl, and were showered with love from ~70 of our closest friends and family at Ivory Peacock to celebrate.
It was their very own Summer House romance that is now leading them to the altar, with celebrations to come in just a short 500+ days. They can’t wait to celebrate with you all!
